Growing up in the heart of Minnesota, Adam's love for outdoor exploration was cultivated early on through countless trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. These formative experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and adventure that Minnesota has to offer.

As a former classroom educator, he has a proven track record of fostering a sense of belonging among students of all backgrounds and learning styles. His commitment to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments shines through. Whether navigating technical slot canyons in Utah or leading expeditions through New Zealand's rugged terrain, Adam prioritizes the well-being of his team above all else. His calm demeanor and resourcefulness under pressure makes him a trusted leader in any situation. His innovative approach to curriculum development and his passion for experiential learning makes him a natural fit for the Red Wing ELC community.

Throughout his journey, Adam has amassed a diverse range of skills and experiences. From guiding whitewater rafting trips in Oregon to mastering rock climbing and canyoneering in Utah, Adam's expertise extends far beyond the classroom. What sets Adam apart is his unwavering commitment to safety and risk management. His dedication to safety—from communication and rope management to emergency preparedness—ensures that every adventure is not only thrilling but also conducted with the utmost care and precaution.

Adam's leadership extends beyond the outdoors, as evidenced by his role at Afton Alps as the Competition Services Team Lead and his experience administering outdoor education programs at Camp St. Croix. His ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders alike ensures that every endeavor is executed with excellence and professionalism.

Adam cherishes spending time with his wife, Dr. Margaret Campe, and their delightful young daughter, Veya. Together they share a love for exploration and discovery which adds an extra layer of warmth to Adam's character and serves as a testament to his dedication to fostering a love for nature in the next generation.

Adam's multitude of life experiences, easygoing personality and quick wit makes him a pleasure to work with, enriching our ELC community and enhancing our collective learning journey. The entire ELC staff is excited to welcome Adam to our family.
